In March of this year, I had the opportunity to photograph a feature for Where Women Create magazine, which highlights the creative spaces and inspirational stories of extraordinary women. My particular shoot was with Rebecca Justice – mother, wife of former major league baseball player David Justice, and creator of the Rebecca Justice Collection of custom furnishings and accessories.
I had previously photographed Rebecca’s furniture line in her amazing home in Southern California, so it was a delight to be back, but focusing this time on her and her creative space for her House of Sacred Flame and Villa de Justicia collections.
Imagine my excitement, then, when I received my advance copy of the magazine, and my image made the cover! Where Women Create is a quarterly publication, and can be found at fine booksellers (the front counter of your local Barnes and Noble, for example), Costco, and online at Amazon.com or directly from the publisher. It will be available starting August 1, and will be on the shelves through the end of October.
I’ve since photographed a number of other features for their sister publication, Where Women Cook, and those will hit the stands in December 2014, and March 2015.
I can’t reproduce the entire article here, but following are a few of my favorite portraits from the shoot with Rebecca. (Hair and makeup by Laura Villalobos).
Thanks for dropping by!
