We recently photographed the press / launch event for Mercedes-Benz celebrating 60 years of the SL (“super, lightweight”) model. It was a three-day affair: two days of photographing the SL family tree in Burbank on Stage 5 at the Warner Brothers Studio lot, and a third day of car-to-car driving photography on the Hollywood Hills “Hidden Racetrack” – a 13 mile loop through Coldwater Canyon/Mulholland Drive/Laurel Canyon/Sunset Boulevard/Beverly Drive – made famous by Jay Leno. (It was pretty cool getting to work with my son, Conner, who served as wheelman on the car-to-car shooting while I was trying not to fall out the back of our Honda pilot!)
Mercedes-Benz has posted an article featuring some of my photographs, along with some by my good friend and photographer extraordinaire, Royce Rumsey, in their “mb!” online magazine at: http://mb.mercedes-benz.com/en/article/747/Hollywood+Love+Affair
